Dunklau and Mantiel were both transported to OSF Saint Anthony's Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles came to rest in the southeast ditch. The Chevrolet was then struck by a red Volvo truck-tractor, hauling a silver trailer driven by Alfredo Mantiel, age 27 of Kirkland, who was traveling eastbound on IL Rte. The Chevrolet then continued traveling southbound into the intersection without stopping at the posted stop sign. After investigation, it was determined that a gray Chevrolet sedan, driven by Mark Dunklau, age 61 of Paw Paw, was traveling southbound on North Mulford Road, just north of East Illinois Route 72.
